VidScribe Shortcut

Send a YouTube or Instagram link straight to VidScribe from the iOS share sheet or the macOS Services menu — no browser, no copy-paste. Install it once; it syncs to every device signed into your iCloud account.

Install the shortcut iOS + macOS

One signed shortcut file, hosted right here. Install it, sign in once, and it lives in the share sheet. Nothing to build — the sign-in prompt is part of the shortcut.

  1. Mac — double-click the downloaded file → Shortcuts opens → Add Shortcut.
  2. iPhone / iPad — open this page in Safari, tap the button, then open the file from Downloads (the ↓ in the toolbar) → Add Shortcut.
  3. First run — share any YouTube or Instagram link → VidScribe. It asks for your VidScribe username and password, once.
  4. Every run after that is silent — a VidScribe notification with the job info means it's queued.
  5. Mac extras (optional) — open the shortcut's ⓘ pane in Shortcuts and tick Services Menu to get it in the right-click menu, or Pin in Menu Bar for one-click access.

Using it

Once installed, on either platform:

  1. iOS / iPadOS — in YouTube, Safari, or Instagram, tap Share → scroll to VidScribe. A notification with the job info means it's queued.
  2. macOS — right-click a link or selected URL → Services → VidScribe. It also appears in the Shortcuts menu-bar item and can be given a keyboard shortcut in Shortcuts → shortcut settings.
